Can you guys recommend me some ambient/drone albums like pic rel? Whenever I pick up a new artist that isn't Hecker I feel like I am listening to uninspired snoozefest.

Alot of ambient is very minimal, but that doesn't mean it's not inspired. artists like Stars Of The Lid had a very distinctive and creative sound, and their music is just divinely beautiful at times. there is ALOT of charm in minimalism, i think you should give it another chance...
But aniway, if you want ambient that has more "things" going in it though, try:
Tangerine Dream - Phaedra
Gas - Pop
Lustomord - Heresy (from the dark ambient side)
I like Jefre Cantu Ledesma and Byron Westbrook senpai

Btw if you find ambient music to be sleepy pic related is perfect for you since you suppose to listen to it when you go to sleep (which is why it's 7 hour long - as long as a sleep)
It's also one of the very few albums i rate 10/10, it's an absolute masterpiece

I'm a big fan of The Tired Sounds of Stars of the Lid. I haven't really engulfed myself into any of Hecker's albums outside of Ravedeath, 1972.
