Do you guys like R.E.M.? I've listened to just a little bit of their stuff and I think they're pretty good. Do you guys have any recommendations for songs? I trust you guys to lead me to some good ones so my lazy stoned ass doesn't have to wade through the waters of the internet in search for them.

All their albums up until Monster are pretty great. R.E.M.'s 80s albums are highly recommended. Automatic For The People is their best 90s album though. The rest isn't too amazing. My personal favorite album is Reckoning but I'd start with Chronic Town or Murmur and go album to album throughout their discography.
Some of my favorite songs from their early days

Murmur, and Reckoning are pretty solid albums.
I liked Monster but it did sound different. So much so that I can understand why a dedicated fan wouldn't have really enjoyed it.

My favorite songs would be Radio Free Europe, and It's the End of The World As We Know it (And I feel Fine)
OP here
Thanks so far for the rec's
It all sounds pretty good. I used to think they were a little bit overrated but they seem like a pretty consistent band. I would still say Husker Du is a better 80's American rock band, but that's just a personal preference and two different types of music
