I don't listen to music that I don't like enough times to feel qualified to judge it in a semi-objective way. I don't think that I can honestly tell the difference between a 1 and a 2 in the same way that I can tell the difference between a 4 and a 4.5. So instead of guessing a random number and throwing it at albums below a 3, I just only rate music I like
I consider it a blessing I haven't heard many albums I outright hate.

distinguish your rating system more. Masterpiece and perfect album basically the same thing. "it's good" "it's okay" and "mediocre" can all mean the same thing. same thing with your descriptions for 2.0-1.0

I used to do half stars, but it got too confusing since my tastes/memories with albums had changed. When I got around 1,000 ratings I asked myself "how much different are my 4 stars from my 3.5 stars?", etc. So I consolidated everything and now I don't loose sleep over this anymore
