Best album
Pornography is their best album, hands down. It balances the best moments of the Cure's sonic experimentation with some of Robert's greatest vocal contributions, while still not feeling overly bloated like later Cure releases. One Hundred Years and A Strange Day are the best Cure songs.

Disintegration, HotD, and 3IB are good albums but where he shines are the singles. Call me a pleb if you want, but no one can write a pop tune like him.

Favorite band ever, Disintegration being my favorite album and the title track being my favorite song of them, that song is so underrated, being a caribbean fag is suffering cause you know you're never seeing them live, going to a tribute concert of them next thursday, i hope i don't cringe more than i expect.

The album or the single? either way, that haunting mood, those lyrics, Robert Smith singing, it all fits into creating a dark atmosphere yet beautiful thing.

Even though I love a lot of their albums and I do think they have some great songs that weren't singles. I agree though. Smith can create some really great pop tunes. Close to me, Why Can't I be You, Love Song, Lullaby, Lovecats. These are all just some really fun singles.

Faith is definitely my favorite from their catalog. Just look at that album cover. Cathedral in fog. Atmosphere. Gloom. Anguish. And then the drums come in. Yes. Riffs. Vocals. So good.

But yeah I think the cover really captures the sentiment of the music - imagining yourself walking around ancient religious stonework in the misty rain, with that duh duh DUH duh duh duh drum beat from all cats are grey in the background... the haunting guitars... and the apathy in the vocals... chilling
