I went to see Jesus Lizard in Olympia when they were touring with Cop Shoot Cop. mainly I went for Cop Shoot Cop, as I was really into industrial at the time. Cop Shoot Cop was good, but jesus Lizard was fucking incredible. David Yow pretty much performed like Iggy did for The Stooges back in the day (or at least how you imagined he did from photos), The crowd wasn't superinto it, though I think just because Olympia is full of pussy college students.
My friends and I were by far going the craziest in what there was of a pit, and we got to talk to David Yow and the other guys after the show. They appreciated our energy and took out names and told us they were putting us on the guest list at the next night's show in Seattle.
We went up to see that show, but it was at The Off Ramp -a bar - and the bouncers s were having none of letting us in, seeing as how we were all underage, even though they admidted we were on the guest list. we ended up getting drunk in the alley and stealing the bar's dumpster by riding down this huge hill the club was on and crashing it into a parked car.
A few years later (mid 90s, maybe) they came back to Seattle and the fire marshal informed them that the should would be immediately shut down if Yow left the stage or there was any stage diving and was present (or had a representative there, whatever) at the show. So that show was relatively lame, but still great
