What do I listen to if I really, really like this?
On Avery Island
The rest of NMH's discography
that's not their only album, y'know
Also forgot to mention I am a total newfag and found it on one of the /mu/core images hence why I don't have any idea what to listen to like it

Listen to some AnCo. Strawberry Jam is their best album. Feels is really good too.
>>61832353
The rest of their discography, beyond that you're left with the microphones and that's about it.
It's one of the most incredibly unique yet familiar albums ever made, and while I'd like to tell you there's tons more like it there really aren't.

This
>>61832735
as someone who likes both, this
>>61832353
Listen to this
>>61832926
And, if you like more punky shit. Go on to this. I hope you like at least one.
>>61832353
Listen to The Glow Pt. 2 by The Microphones. Probably the closest experience you'll get.
There's the rest of NMH's discography as everyone said, but personally I find it to be not that really good compared to ITAOTS
>>61832353
what parts do you like?
>>61832353
Sufjan Stevens, you pleb
>>61832404
are you seriously implying that this is close to any AnCo album?
>>61832404
No Merriweather Post Pavilion is their best album in terms of accesibility, but Spirit They're Gone Spirit They've Vanished is their actual best
>>61832972
no
just saying he should listen to it
All of these.
>>61832404
Nah man. He should listen to AnCo, but start with the first album and work his way forward chronologically. That should be the path of least resistance imo.
>>61833159
replace Hospice with pet sounds
>>61832953
This, and People That Can Eat People
Neither are very close, The Glow is closer
>>61833159
oh god I forgot all about that Antlers album I repressed that sadness years ago
>>61833209
agreed
Hospice was hard to listen to.
Conventional wisdom says other fuzz folk, and other E6 recordings. It's tough to rec more specifically without a better layout of why you like which parts you like.
Nana Grizol, Car Seat Headrest, maybe Daniel Johnston: all pretty good lo-fi-indy-folk sounds
>>61833283
He needs to start with /mu/core essentials.
>>61833217
Pet Sounds isn't exactly fun time junction either.
>>61832735
Totally this. You should start with the album Knife Man and go to People that can eat people -> Can't Maintain.
They're all pretty good, though.
>>61833214
>>61833217
wait, is hospice back now? i thought we collectively agreed it was actually shit like, last month
>>61833435
It's really good. But if I haven't had my pills I want to kill myself.
>>61832404
>strawberry jam is their best album
kek'ing so hard right now. Everyone knows it's undoubtedly STGSTV
the sound of the shotgun blast as you blow your brains out for liking this fucking trash
>>61832353
Guided By Voices, The Decemberists, Microphones
>>61833489
wowee
>>61833489
I had a laff
>>61832735
I'm liking this so far, kind of a bit more instrumental than I'd like but still I like it a lot
>>61833159
Does anybody have the non ant version of this or just tell me what albums they are? I know the Radiohead, Kanye, and Money Store but that's it
