There's a severe lack of DAW descriptions in the wiki. If you're good with your tool of choice, consider writing a paragraph about it.

Learn how you can be an astronought and make space jams.

Remember to use clyp.it to post your tracks/WIP : posting a clyp.it is just providing sound for a question, posting a soundcloud link is making self-advertisement and the thread doesn't need that.

Remember to check other peoples' clyp.it links to keep the thread healthy.

>Is there actually a point to using any of the later MPCs besides workflow? I thought they were 12 bit and lofi, but I was looking up the stats and they are 44.1khz and 16 bit which seems pretty nice.

ableton master race
>>
>>61809940
Are you referring to the standalone devices versus the now just midi controllers?
>>
>>61809940
It's just a matter of workflow and looking cool, no bigger point.
>>
>>61809960
The standalone ones like the 2000, 1000, 3000, ect.

>>
>>61810150
probaly some rompler preset with portamento/glide
>>
Is BitWig good for a beginner DAW?
>>
>>61810067
yeah i mean, a lot of the last MPC's haven't felt very special and are all workflow. the MPC Touch is pretty interesting, but that's about it.
>>
>>61810150
sounds like a pretty plain synth with a fuckton of random glide shit. Wouldn't be hard to recreate.

Also /r/synthrecipes

Mpcfag here
Mpc are 16bit 44.1khz since the 2000, mpc are really good if you care about the groove of your rhythms and beats in general, they sound ok but sequencing old samplers like a s950 or s1000, any vintage smpler actually, is really awesome.
>>
>>61811134
In your opinion is MPC timing real or a placebo?
>>
>>61810269
As good as any.
>>
>>61811290
are you talking about the swing function? that's definitely a real thing
>>
>>61812624
But does it swing better than other swings?
>>
>>61812709
i dunno, never used an mpc or the swing function on anything else
>>
>>61812624
I was talking about stuff like midi jitter
