So a few days back I managed to gouge out some of my guitar's wood around the neck screw hole when I was tightening the neck screw, and the ferrule cut into some of the wood surrounding it.

Usually F chords shouldn't be the problem, it might come from your fretting or the way you do barre, personally my fingers tend to bend outwards when forcing on them so sometimes barre sounds like shit.

he's playing arpeggios then descending with all the scale tones on to the next scale tone from where he started
he starts on A, the first one sounds like a dominant 7 arpeggio (which isn't in the key of Amaj, so he's wrong), then he plays all the scale tones descending down to the B, and then plays another arpeggio start on the B, descends on all the scale tones down to the C#, and it keeps going like that
if you want to do stuff like that you can just make your own. play an A major arpeggio starting at the 5th fret, end on the first octave, descend down to the B and then play a B min arpeggio up until the first octave, then descend with all the scale tones down to the C#, then play a C#minor arpeggio, etc. basically you're just following a chord scale by playing their arpeggios and scales and then switching to the next chord in the chord scale, while staying in the same position.
that stuff is good so you can get your fingers used to switching scales in one position instead of flying all around the next

I've got an Ibanez SR500 bass with active EQ, Bass Terror 500 Hybrid amp paired with Peavey 410TX, Joyo OCD clone and a Big Muff.
I know Red Fang uses full tube Sunn amps and P-basses, but I think with the Orange I can pretty close. Any advice on what kind of EQ I should go for with the amp and the bass? The amps EQ is mid cut and treble/bass boost only.

You've got to learn how to fill the other frequencies in order to get the huge stoner sound. Add in some really subtle distortion, and then play with the knobs on both your bass and your amp while your guitarist plays so you can see how your changes affect the overall sound.
