In Utero is the quintessential Nirvanna album, Nevermind isn't bad it's just a watered down version of In Utero's sound. What Nirvanna was getting at was done way better with In Uteros abrasive instrumentals and dark as fuck lyrics. Nevermind is just more radio friendly and has more mainstream appeal.

In Utero. Nevermind is the In Utero packaged for the masses. Both are entirely solid albums, however i think Nevermind was meant to get everyones attention. In Utero was meant to show those people a more real sound of Nirvana. The sound they really wanted to go for
