Sorry, getting mah nips mixed up. Basically, the lead composer for Rev. Persona was the one who came up with the weird, dreamy, techno sound in the soundtrack - notice how this sound is completely missing in later SMT games (though Meguro did have a similar feel to his music in Nocturne). I know that he died, but I can't remember his fucking name so now I look a right tit.
Also, god-tier choice, hyped that the same composers are coming back for Final. I literally can't get enough of this music (can only find it in the trailer, sorry senpai) -

Yeah, I love SF3's soundtrack too. I should really listen to more stuff from 2nd Impact / New Generation though since I'm pretty sure they're good. For 3rd Strike though, Jazzy NYC '99, Spunky (Makoto's stage), Killing Moon (Gouki), Twilight (Ibuki) are all great tracks. Shame that there's a few boring ones too (like the Brazil stage).
