>>61754339
>7. Heathen
>8. Outside
>9. Let's Dance
My man
>>61754339
I don't think Tonight is better than Scary Monsters, but I'm glad you didn't rank it as low as most do.
>>61754339
I fucked up. The second reality is Young Americans.
>>61754196
Blackstar should be no. 1 or 2
>>61754196
>Pinups and his debut that high
>Tonight and Outside that low
>Reality, Heathen, Black Star, and The Next Day all below Let's Dance and The Man Who Sold the World
>Hunky Dory above Station to Station and Ziggy
Literal trash opinion.
>>61754339
>Lodger below Black Tie
I will fight you
>>61754339
>Tonight better than Scary Monsters
>Black Tie better than Lodger
>"Heroes" not 1
>heathen being that high
WHAT THE FUCK
Pinups is a solid album containing competent performances of good songs.
>>61754196
Blackstar and Young Americans not high enough,
but they got the definitive top 5 correct. Those really are the top 5 in any order.
>>61754196

>>61756333
>1.Outside
>>61756333
>Outside on top
You did it for the joke, didn't you?
>Next Day and Ziggy that low
>Earthling that high
What a contrarian
>>61756478
Its really my favorite but lack of space is for the joke.
The next day is liked? I thought it was considered mediocre.
What's bad about earthling? I loved the way he incorporated DnB. 90s bowie is easily my favorite era.
Ziggy was kinda too silly and had a few songs I didn like. I thought it had a lot of great highs though.
>>61756567
The Next Day is top tier. If you're rating it low because you thought everybody else thinks it's mediocre, you're both a pleb and misinformed.
Anyway, I really do not like Earthling at all. I'm Afraid of Americans is a good song, but the DnB rhythm section underneath otherwise traditional Bowie tracks just feels so incongruous and bad.
I also don't like Prodigy though.
>>61756617
What do you like about the next day? I'm not voting it low because of everyone else, but I thought people agreed.
And meh, I thought earthling just had good songs too.
Anyways, what's the reason people dislike outside? Its got my favorite bowie songs and has the thickest atmosphere of any I've heard so far. Hearing I'm Deranged on Lost Highway is what got me into Bowie.
>>61754196
fun fact, one of my professors illustrated the cover of this issue of rolling stone.
>>61756655
I like the industrial style Bowie went for on Outside, I really do. I'm Deranged, the title track, Heart's Filthy Lesson, I Have Not Been to Oxford Town, and Strangers When We Meet are some of the best 90s Bowie songs, and some of his best work in general.
The problem I have is that most of the good stuff is in the first half, which is still 30 plus minutes of a great album. But the record is 75 minutes long, and to me just doesn't justify its length.
It's my favorite 90s Bowie record, don't get me wrong, but it's not in my top 10 Bowie records. A solid 7/10 that would've been better without the confusing narrative and ridiculous length.
As for The Next Day, it's just an incredibly strong rock album from start to finish. Sounds a lot like Heathen and Reality, which I already like a lot, except each song feels like it was given more care in the studio, and it doesn't let up in energy like those records do. The title track, Dancing Out in Space, and Heat are high up there in my favorite Bowie songs ever.
>>61756811
I'm the opposite with it. I felt outside's length is one of its best assets. It just pulls you in for the atmosphere and never lets up. If it were shorter I feel the atmosphere would be cut off too soon.
I thought it was consistent, but I guess I agree the first half is a bit better.
>>61756911
I'll listen to it again and see how I feel about it.
I have Oxford Town stuck in my head now.
>>61757719
will be here, or at least will read it later.

10. Lodger
11. Space Oddity
What next?
>>61756811
>Dancing Out in Space
My nigga, love that track.
>>61757953
Here, I got this:
1. Low
2. Ziggy Stardust
3. Station to Station
4. Blackstar
5. Hunky Dory
6. Lodger
7. The Next Day
8. Heroes
9. Scary Monsters
10. Aladdin Sane
11. Heathen
12. Reality
13. Young Americans
14. Space Oddity
15. Outside
16. The Man Who Sold the World
17. Tonight
18. Earthling
19. Diamond Dogs
20. Let's Dance
21. Hours
22. Black Tie White Noise
23. Never Let Me Down
24. Pin Ups
25. David Bowie
So comparing our two lists, I'd say you should go to Scary Monsters next.
Why do people seem to not like Diamond Dogs much? Fucking, Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing guys.
>>61758085
I like Sweet Thing, but I don't like Candidate or the reprise.
That, Diamond Dogs, and Rebel Rebel are the only things on the record I like.
1984 and Big Brother are especially cringe worthy.
>muh dystopia

Oh, I never gave you a recommendation on what next.
You would probably really like The Man Who Sold the World. Also, you haven't listened to Hunky Dory yet. That needs to be fixed.
>>61758121
it's not that your taste is shit, it's that you refuse to acknowledge that he ever made anything bad. i love bowie as much as the next guy but he definitely made some stinkers
>>61758143
Fair enough, "Ok Tier" could be switched to bad tier then.
>>61758121
Aladdin Sane too high
Man who Sold the World too low
>>61754196
this would be a good list with diamond dogs just below lodger
>>61754196
I'm liking Low being undisputed for number 1.
Good taste m80s
What about a new Bowie meme?

Low is awful and mostly instrumentals. Stop getting your opinion from pitchfork.
>>61759415
confirmed for never listening to Low.
I listened through his whole discography recently, and I used to put Lodger and Station to Station above it. But no, Low is really just that perfect.
>>61759442
Fuck you. Ive been a fans since the 80s. Fuck you nigger child. you are totally tone deaf.
>>61759470
>80s
I bet you adore Let's Dance
>>61759520
