Good pick OP. Dead Kennedys are the best "punk" band of all time though.

Need some more good recent punk stuff. What have been your favorites from the past five years?

For me it's been:

Wiccans - Field II (psychedelic punk)

Both albums by Hank Wood And The Hammerheads (good old punk with a few twists)

Who Killed Spikey Jacket's s/t EP (also good old punk but very energetic lotsa fun live)

Well...then maybe anyone you saw live recently that you thought was solid? I feel that staying up to date with punk stuff happens through going to shows. It's just been a while for me due to personal problems

Uhhh sure. Also I forgot Idk if the more hardcore side of punk counts but over from this area (Northern Virginia/DC) we had Red Death's album Permanent Exile. Shit's sorta like Power Trip but not really. I guess Power Trip's feel is more towards metal this is more towards hardcore despite both being crossover.

Oh and I guess I should probably post musics instead of just albums names since not everyone will go make the effort to check out albums.

My favorite from that scene has always been Zouo. I like how more darker and satanic they are than their peers who did similar stuff. Perfect for a metal fag like me.

FUCK YEAH!
>>
man...... japan had such a vibrant scene
>>
>This GISM video
>Perfect aesthetic. Sakevi looking like a fucking maniac commando.
>Sakevi Running around melting the crowd with fire.
>Sakevi intimidating the photographer halfway into the video for taking pictures, without even taking off his balaclava.
>Randy shredding the fuck out of his guitar at 9:10 While Sakevi's running around like a fucking maniac offstage.

This video is so punk it transcends what people think punk is. GISM are the greatest punk band ever.

The dude who runs the punk/metal vinyl store and one of the local punk labels here took a trip to Japan. Their scene sounds cool as fuck. Dude even got to see the main guys from GISM and Zouo do what they do with their modern bands. These guys still go hard and have fun with less drama than the shit that surrounds our scenes. Also brought over some vinyls to sell in his store; shit I wasn't able to find for years. Got most of it.

Some son of a bitch got to this before I could. Was selling at the store for $80, but this used to go for $50...a decade ago and my dumb ass tried to find a version of that price. As you can see from this Discogs link it doesn't go for less than $100 these days.
