I just came here to post about this. Soooo fucking happy. I'm finally gonna be able to afford a decent (timbre wolf lol) polysynth, but the fact that korg didn't stop there makes me really happy. Just like how the micro brute was both very affordable and innovative, korg actually brought a lot of new stuff to the table here.

But my favorite part about this is the position korg has (once again) put the rest of the synth industry in. Big synth companies can't just release a lazy polysynth and slap a 1k+ price tag on it anymore. Yessssss korg. Yessssssss.

ROLAND ON SUICIDE WATCH FAMILIAS
>>
>>61748607
I don't think Roland could do it at that price. The keybed alone would be a couple hundred + the cost of manufacturing old chips.
>>
>>61747580
I feel for you. I bought one brand new before realizing how much less they are used, or that they even made the MicroKorg XL. All this, and my friend manages to get an MS-20 his uncle had lying around for free.

this deserves more attention tbqh

at least they finally made something that will effectively kill the memesynth that was their microkorg/xl.

i'm looking forward to the other manufacturers drops during namm. i hope one of them is bringing a monster analog poly to battle the prophet 6. although it will be tough since i think dave smith is the only guy who wants to make not just an analog poly, but a discrete circuitry analog poly. but pretty much if anyone comes out with modern analog poly (probably with dcos rather than discrete vcos) that costs less than the prophet 6, then that will win namm.

Nigga please, we're talking about a $499 synth with one-knob-per-function and keys versus a $1299 module. Both have fully analog signal synthesis-wise (I'm not counting effects) and the minilogue has a fucking oscilloscope. It outmemed the Analog Four in every way possible.

so is the viridict that this is the best deal for your money? other than coming across an old analog poly at a yard sale or craigslist for underpriced. someone had a listing for a yamaha poly-800 for 150$ on craigslist near me but by the time i replied it was already sold. do you think this will lower prices of better synths or anyone will come out with anything better within the next year? or should i just go ahead an preorder it?

The Poly-800, despite the name, is only paraphonic.

I have one, it crashed on me twice on the mpst recent firmware version. Not usual by any means, but I don't buy synths to put up with the same bullshit as people using VSTs.
