Do in the order they were released. 1, 3, 6, 2, 9, 5.

Do The World Upside Down before 9 and 5 that one's also a good release.

Chances are your first one was probs Lesson No1/ The Ascension so it only makes sense to go through in order to see what kind of things he added/removed.

A lot of the appeal of the things I listened to before wore off quickly, to be really honest
I guess I could replace a few albums on my chart as well, and maybe take one or two (probably Ultravisitor and Jandek) from my old chart, but my chart changed rapidly because the summer and fall were really the first times in a few years I had to delve into music
Also, at the time I made the chart I was trying to get more specific recommendations for stuff (as I stated before), so I kind of shirked making an "all-time" chart

Yeah, I know it looks odd from the outside, but that's the fact of the matter

>>61721482

also, it's fucking impossible for one's taste to change that rapidly in two or so months
>>
>>61721640
No, not really

GY!BE and most /mu/core lost a lot of appeal for me when I started listening to other stuff, and other times I just burned myself out on other albums. It happens

I've also said that before
>>
>>61721665
Maybe you should have read what I wrote
That chart represented a lot of what I was enjoying at the time and wanted more of, and while some of those albums are still my "major" favorites, I acknowledge I can replace some of them. My taste did change pretty quickly, but it wasn't a complete reversal as those charts might portray

>lost a lot of appeal for me
why did they lose their appeal
>I just burned myself out on other albums
you "burned yourself out" on your all-time favs? really?
>>61721725
then why didn't you make your charts represent your actual taste? maybe you just wanted to look cool?
>>
>>61721777
They lost their appeal from repeated listening, when those moments that used to hit me just didn't do it anymore. Also, some albums just stopped resonating with me, and I couldn't enjoy them nearly as much anymore

I had been listening to those same albums for months and years at that point, it's understandable that they would get old after that amount of time. I still return to them these days but not nearly as often as I did before

Also, I had both trouble making all-time lists (my first two were me really scraping the bottom of the barrel and forgetting a lot of albums as well), and I also didn't want a generic chart, because it's difficult for people to rec when there's just critically acclaimed albums on your chart

I'll revise my chart soon, though

not yet, I've listened to their debut and it didn't leave a strong impression, what's oktubre like? I've barely listened to any rock from south america so it should be interesting

Yeah I copped Hunch Music. May/may not possibly be seeing him next week on Friday since plan's to hit up New York to visit a cousin.

Well, the remixes are meant to be similar to the original tracks in a particular way. You do realize that Arrange And Process doesn't technically add anything new right it's just them putting at least two Basic Channel songs together for each of the tracks on that album it's like a super version of a mash-up. Otherwise I don't see how each sounds too original to the tracks they remix considering the fact that right when you think it's going exactly like one song each track will then instead act like the structure of the other song allowing for some pretty interesting shenanigans.
>>
>>61724010
It's quite different from the debut, has a darker and most post punk sound
Just listen to the first track

>>
>>61723427

I see you have a bit of Josh Homme stuff. You may want to look into Brody Dalle. She's his wife, and Puts out some decent stuff. Not quite QOTSA, but you may like it.
>>
>>61724044
Yeah, I just expected a different take on the classic tracks, like an complete revamp. Still it's impressive how better suited these mixes are for the dancefloor
>>61724081
Neat, it already packs a bigger punch than their debut, i'll check out the rest, thanks
>>
>>61724332
You can dig into them and as you don't speak spanish (I assume) you won't have to deal with their afwul fanbase
>>
>>61724368
no, not a single word of spanish, but what's wrong with their fanbase?

You may feel the same way about Balance 005 in that it is a mix that's excellent for blasting/dance floor shit, too.
>>
>>61724416
they overrate their material, pretentiously act as if their lyrics are all the best poetry pieces ever created by the mankind, and follow the frontman of the band after the split everywhere even though he's just moneygrabbing like a motherfucker

If you could read the comments on that youtube link. they are all ranting about communism and the revolution and shit and they probably don't know shit about it
