When she took one of the records and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually to prevent any electrical "infetterence" (I don't even think that's a real word), and then turned around and winked at me. After she scanned each LP and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by saying "Tubba blubba" really loudly.
It was pretty surreal.

You could be listening to what's considered masterpieces like the classical repertoire or studying folk song like the Child ballads, or listening to and studying the most important and influential popular music in whatever areas you prefer if that's your thing. Just as you could be reading the most respected classics by great authors rather than random trash. Lindy effect is something to keep in mind, classical literature has established itself as worthwhile and isn't going anywhere, but something released this year could be obsolete, forgotten, or otherwise shown as insignificant the year after.
