That's not what I meant. Around 07 Dubstep started becoming much more mainstream than it had been back when it was just Big Apple/Tempa/DMZ guys, especially after Night came out. I don't know if it was coincidental or not but after Spongebob I noticed many more producers trying to go for that massive filthy bassline and the overproduction wars began and started taking over the sound. Before Spongebob you get wobblers like Stagga but they were dirty in the same way that brostep tracks were.
That's just what I observed though.
