Most underrated hardcore LP of '84 coming through
>>
I detest every imaginable facet of hardcore music.

There's a few rare exceptions but it's mostly a Caucasian only brofest filled to the brim with angry adolescents praising mediocre musicians who are screaming their brains out because their parents stopped paying for their shitty apartment.

I wish this genre would fucking die already.

Very glad I don't see it talked about on here too often. Let's keep it that way please.

With all that said Minus is pretty good.

I do and a few of them listen to hardcore and I give them shit for it.

Defeater sucks but his lyrics are very good.
Turnstile is ass.
Xibalba is catchy but still lame.

I tried getting into Expire their latest album is trash.

Full of hell is some of the worst music I've ever heard.

..and the list goes on and on.

I really just can't get into this genre.

I'm sorry I don't like the things you do.
But I'm just in the mood complain, don't take me seriously.

It doesn't upset me if other people like it, but it does confuses and disappoint me.
>>
Anyone got any hardcore charts? I'm not really into much hardcore except entry-level stuff like Converge, Defeater or Refused and kinda want to explore the genre more in-depth

I can give non-metalcore recs if you want.
>>
>>61711536
It originated as an alternative music style beside mainstream music that's why it sound so simplistic. Personally i like love old hc stuff but despise the new one.

That'd be cool, I'm looking for the roots of the genre really

Just going to post some of my favorites--some unheralded, some well known--in (I think) chronological order.

I almost bought a used vinyl copy of that, but I bought a Priest record instead. Should I still check it out?
>>
>>61711536
I love the music, but I will agree that the shows are shit. I absolutely despise hardcore dancing, especially when it's taken too far, and people Starr getting injured.
>>
>>61711536
MUSIC DOES NOT HAVE TO HAVE SOCIOPOLITICAL CONTEXT. YOU CAN LISTEN TO RAP, CLASSICAL, COUNTRY, POWERVIOLENCE, AMBIENT AND HOUSE MUSIC AND FIND SOMETHING ENJOYABLE WITHOUT LETTING THAT FACT LABEL YOU WITH A POLITICAL IDENTITY AND WITHOUT BEING A POSER OR DILLETENTE.

IT'S FUCKING VIBRATIONS. YOU CAN ENJOY ART FOR ART'S SAKE.

What a weenie.
>>
>>61709859
I saw him in 1989.
His shit was diarrhetic. He still licked up though. It might've been the longest performance he ever gave, lasting even longer than what was documented on the "Boozing and Pranks" album. He maced everybody in the audience who wasn't at the front of the stage worshipping him at the end of the show.
>>
>>61712768
No. post 1985 GG Allin sucks. Try to get a hold of his pre 1985 stuff, especially with his first band The Jabbers.
>>
>>61711593
Perhaps you just don't like heavier music?
>>
>>61711831
When people say things like this I'm convinced they don't know more than a handful of new hardcore bands.
>>
Turnstile has the grooviest shows. I just got back from seeing Foundation in California with God's Hate, Forced Order, Red Death, and Runamuk
>>
>>61713005
They really do. I saw them with bane, backtrack, power trip, forced order, mizery, bitter end and malfunction last august and they played one of my favorite sets I saw the whole year. Power trip stole the show though. Such an incredible band. new album 2016 too.
>>
>>61712947
No it's hardcore and only hardcore, I'm 23 and started listening to metalcore and grind when I was 15 or so. Grew out of that but I still enjoy a few songs for nostalgias sake.

I really only listen to black metal nowadays Aosoth is one of my favorite bands.

Deathspell omega, behemoth, carcass, dragged into sunlight and illdispossed are all great too.
>>
>>61712877
And yet there's a glaring amount of white people this generation who won't admit they dislike rap and won't get it a chance mainly because of their internalized racism.
>>
>>61713045
different strokes for different folks I guess

I don't get how you don't like full of hell though. They aren't even really hardcore.
>>
>>61713084
THATS why people dont like rap. They're RACIST.
>>
>>61712939
Ah, okay. Thanks!
>>
>>61713108
Yes and I was talking about everyone who says the don't like it. Every. Single. Person.
>>
>>61713091
I know but hardcore seems to be more of an unbrella term nowadays.

>Floorpunch
>Expire
>the ghost inside
>soul search
>bad brains

All sound different.
Subgenres or whatever it's still hardcore.
>>
>>61713084
You should probably reject the white man's hardcore along with his books, visual art, and news media just to show him that you don't need his racist points of view because they're obviously all like that. They're all the same.
>>
>>61713108
>>61713141

I'll direct this sarcasm towards you instead.
>>61713202
Besides I'm already in the process of doing that.

The only white man I trust is Thom Yorke.

I'd let him sit on my face on a hot day.

Fine then. I'll post some essential nigger and spic core. All these bands have black or hispanic vocalists.

Bad Brains

Absolution

Los Crudos

Swiz
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7nFkXD_y88

plus the Burn and Inside Out tracks here >>61712742

Sure there was racism in pockets of the hardcore scene, but for the most part if you were cool and you loved the music, nobody cared what you looked like.
