>"On October 11th, 2015 while playing their last show of the 2015 tour at the Ryman Auditorium, Jesse gave a very heartfelt speech, at one point his voice cracked and he could be seen wiping away tears. In the speech he told the audience that "this isn't going to last much longer". He spoke about his friendships with the band, the possibility of a new album, and that he would soon be a father"

New Brand New album when? Also why is Brand New so god-tier?

Fuck you anon

>tfw hes probably the type of person to kill himself
>>
>>61707404
next year
and idk, they are really good. but when you say a band's good on here you're just inviting some elitist who doesn't enjoy ______ to shit on you to make him feel like his music is the true hidden gem and you're stuck on _______ like it's so 5 years ago

best bet is never admit you enjoy anything or exclaim that it's universally good.
>>
I saw them live a while back and they were very good, but Jesse was a bit of a trainwreck. Kevin Devine and the lead singer for Manchester United kinda lead the show. Jesse got it together after a few songs.

I fell in love with Deja Entendu so nothing will replicate that, but I'd welcome something new.
>>
>>61707475
I'm pretty sure he had a kid and thats why he is ending it

Manchester Orchestra I mean

Deja Entendu is the GOAT Brand New listen.

Jesse killed it at our show, didn't miss a beat. That said, Kevin Devine and Andy Hull both seemed immensely more talented live. We were the first stop for Manchester's acoustic tour in 2014 and it was one of the top 3 best shows I've ever seen of any genre. The whole night was surreal, and it placed them just a notch above Brand New for me.
>>
>>61707594

Yeah I went into the show already loving Brand New but I came away madly impressed with Devine and Manchester Orchestra. The show was so good start to finish.
>>
>>61707594
>>61707641
Were they touring together? Who was opening for who?
>>
>>61707404
mene is their best song
>>
>>61707683

Manchester Orchestra and Brand New was the official show. I guess Kevin Devine was just tagging along or whatever I dunno.

That's not The Archers Bows Have Broken
>>
>>61707733
That's not Nobody Moves, Noro, OR You Won't Know.
Am I missing something?
>>
>>61707763
jesus christ thats a pretty face
>>
>>61707763
Noro is a GOAT closing track i'll admit.

>Just listened to Sealed To Me
>fuck this is great

Not too hype on Mene though

>>
>>61707854
Sowing season is pretty up there for me
>>
>>61707981
Is their first album any good? I avoid it on principle because the single from it is awful
>>
>>61708079
was the single jude law? oh man i really love that song. personally your favorite weapon is my favorite brand new album but i still have a soft spot for grungey pop punk idk what you call it. soco ameretto lime is also a tearjerker classic
>>
1. Noro
2. Limousine
3. You Won't Know
4. Me Vs Maradona Vs Elvis
5. Nobody Moves
6. Degausser
7. You Stole
8. Welcome to Bangkok
9. Soco Amaretto Lime
10. Fork and Knife

imo.
Honorable mentions: Battalions, Sowing Season, Daisy, every other song they have

Nothing really does what that angry fucking noise ending of noro does for me.
I would kill to see them thrash around playing that ending live. So much chaos while still sounding in their style.
They just never like to play noro it seems.
>>
>>61708079
its pretty straightforward pop punk. catchy but not anything groundbreaking or interesting musically.
>>
>>61708192
I fucking forgot about Welcome to Bangkok. Thats my favourite. I love how heavy it gets.
>>
>nobody listing Tautou

It was the perfect intro song for a great album.
>>
>>61708219
Yeah really, I love how a huge noisy fucking wall of sound can convey so much feeling.

Also forgot 1996/Morrissey as a definite top 10 dang it.
>>
>>61708245
you fucking wot m8? Im just listening to it. Morrissey is one of my all time favourites. A fucking Morrissey imitation? Brand New? This is gold.

Oh damn yeah, first hearing it was great, that ending bit too, after the guitar solo/riff
IF THERE'S ANY JUSTICE IN HEAVEN THEN GOD WON'T LEEEET ME INNN
and then the super damn Morrissey sounding bit.
I KNOW I DESERVE WORSE BUT IT TERRIFIES ME AND I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE

Also
damnit I keep forgetting some. My list on the internet has to be complete.
Out of Range is definitely in my like, top 5. I just was kind of browsing through the 4 albums making that list + demos
Such a unique feeling in that song.

10. Tautou
>>
>>61708079
Most people on /mu/ hate it on principle because "hurr pop punk", but I think it's a fucking great album personally. If you like Deja Entendu, it's honestly no that different. It's catchy and easily their most accessible album, but it's not bad.
>>
>>61707404
I don't understand why everyone says Deja and tdag are GOAT when Daisy is the best thing they've done. Some of the lyrics on Deja are cringey as fuck and tdag's last half is boring
>>
>nobody listing Me vs Maradona vs Elvis as GOAT

Welcome to Bangkok and Soco Amaretto Lime are also GOAT.
>>
>>61707589
YOU CONSTANTLY MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE
>>
The Hotelier and The World is a Beautiful Place make Brand New irrelevant
>>

both are amazing bands but this is completely wrong.

Manchester United lmfao holy shit you've made my day
>>

theyre bretty good

>implying any of their discography is bad

all 3 are in my top 20 artists but none of them make any of the others irrelevant.

Side note, what do people think of Daisy?

I used to not like it that much, but after a while I started to really appreciate it for what it was. At The Bottom and Noro are irresponsibly good songs.
>>
>>61710277
>Daisy
fucking love it. i especially love the weird noisy bits and the samples at the beginning and end.

I'm slightly bummed out the cassettes don't just have the remastered OG version of Nobody Moves, prefer it to the rerecording.
>>
>>61710326
I love those samples man, they open and close the album perfectly.
