Why do people say Kanye West isn't talented on here/doesn't make his own music.
My friend is obsessed with him and I was under the impression he produced his own stuff.

I guess he's a talented hip hop artist.
The only thing I dislike I about hip hop in general is the amount of people that listen to hip hop and nothing else and therefore I find the Kanye circlejerking annoying even if it is ironic.

At this point when he produces a track it generally just means he has a vision and is part of a production team, he isn't really making his own beats anymore. He's pretty much Dre nowadays, though I think he's more involved

because everything post-graduation has been kanye just spending tons of money on really good producers to do the work for him. he's become more of a creative director atm. swish seems like he's back take a hands on approach to his music again . than the passive disaster he did on yeezus.
I mean he spent 3m on fucking mbdtf (its a good album) just let that sink
3 million dollars to make a record. majority of the bands /mu/ likes can't even get 10% of that budget

Most of Kanye's triumphs are down to his producers. For instance people praise MBDTF because of its high production quality. Kanye himself had little to do with that.
