I generally like El-P solo, but never got into RTJ at all. Seems like boring 'hardcore rap' about guns and jewellery, but filtered through some layers of irony or 'concept'.

If I were to guess which is Fantano's favourite genre, I think it would be something around metal, he even played in a drone band. Now With DEHH and Quint, those guys are hip hop heads, as fantano said he isn't trying to be any "genrehead". They listened to every classic in hip hop, they are down with every artist, they know their shit. They can sound informal and unprofessional as fuck but that's what they are aiming for. In the end it all comes down to one hip hop fan listening to something and expressing their opinions as if talking to friends. It's the views of someone who is passionate about the genre they are talking about, with their channels dedicated to it.

I like them but EL-P's solo stuff is way better. RTJ2 is pretty good but it's nothing compared to I'll Sleep When You're Dead.
