Not your personal emotional favorite trash, not with the benefit of hindsight etc. etc. What was a more important album from the year? This was a creative apex of a whole career. Ridiculously ambitious and a complete success that sounded like nothing before it and pushed hip-hop into new places.

As for whatever it is you hear when you go to www.kanyewest.com, I only heard the first song that played and I really liked it. I'll wait until the album gets an actual release before listening to the whole thing though.
I'm not a Kanye West fan at all. I heard his discography, thought Yeezus was crap, MBDTF was great but overrated, Graduation was the best album, and his other stuff is really good. Kanye West is lyrically edgy and angsty, but he has the best flow and great production. From the one song I heard on his website, I can say that I'm at least moderately excited for the new album.

I know a guy who knows a guy and has managed to listen to a few tracks off the album.
Apparently it's really great. The album is really long and they weren't allowed to hear all of it.
It's also based a lot on the family he's built in the last couple years, and is apparently, and I don't really understand what my guy meant by this part, but it's apparently "hosted" by some old soul singer? I don't know.
Honestly this has disappointment written all over it.
Where do you go after MBDTF and Yeezus? Lush massive orchestral crowd pleaser to minimalist confrontational noise rap. Anything from either side or anywhere in between is gonna sound like a lesser retread and the older R&B / soul sound is just way too overplayed to sound fresh for a LONG time (largely due to Ye ironically).
More importantly, Kanye has NOTHING to say anymore. He's even exhausted the "Fuck the haters who say I have nothing to say anymore" well. All he's talked about the last few years is his clothes, his brain dead wife and his kids. All shit you couldn't pay me to listen to someone rap about. Kendrick and TPAB are the same game changer Kanye was at his height and Kanye needs a HUGE shakeup to stay relevant but it really seems like he's out of ways to change.
