I think everyone on OVO sounds the same except for makonnen.
I think Bryson Tiller getting bigger than partynextdoor is disgraceful and the OVO team should be embarassed on how they hype their artists.

I don't like him. He has ghost writers and he still considers himself a lyrical rapper, which he isn't (http://poly-graph.co/vocabulary.html). He also sings more than he raps. The only thing that I can say about him is the production on his albums is good. He makes a few catchy songs here and there but they aren't something I would consider rap. He's very successful/mainstream and I don't hate him for that. But what I do hate him for is how so many people put him on a pedestal as a GOAT-Tier Rapper because of the success he's had. Machine Gun Kelly's recently released a shit album and people praise it and think it's good because it was #1 on Billboard, Drake is no different. If you want a real Rap version of Drake listen to J.Cole.
Even putting aside the Genre he thinks he's in, his music is mediocre.

As for actually having praise in the hip-hopiverse, naw hes been washed up. People with no substance like him for the beats, flow, and hype (i.e. easily relatable lines referring to social media, basic bitches, basketball/sports, Gucci Mane hype train). Hes dropped some good songs, and some great (Best I Ever Had is up there with Ignition remix) but in all, hes nothing special who will never change the rap game or take down any rapper on or greater than his level.
Tldr: Commercial and social success, not actually doing anything for the culture
