Prindle covers an interesting niche though, which is better than having a generic overview of popular music filled with revisionist history, opinions masquerading as facts, etc. Scaruffi provides a slightly more interesting take on the standard rock canon, might as well read AllMusic desu

The famous Beatles pasta, for one. For starters, the stripping away of the black elements of rock music was a process that began with Buddy Holly, and probably even earlier than that, to blame the Beatles for the gentrification of rock is inaccurate, and mostly comes across as a cheap way to cause controversy. Also, it seems weird that he would even raise that complaint, given that he likes honky-ass shit like Rock Bottom.
