Yes I do agree. Norway still churns out loads of BM, but its mostly generic copies of the golden age formula. Pretty uninteresting to me as well. Check out the first post in this thread, though. That's the debut of a norwegian band that is 11/10. Give it a good listen whydontcha.

You may wanna check out Lunar Poetry by Nokturnal Mortum. In the Nightside Eclipse and Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk by Emperor are also worth checking out. As for your issue with the vocals.. I dunno, man. Keep listening, they may grow on you.

The two types of black metal that i like rn are the super pretty but not too pretty type like Panopticon's new album and DSO inspired death metal-y type like Mitochondrion and Imperial Triumphant
