I listened to it for the first time yesterday and I just thought it was boring desu. The only track I really liked was King Kunta.
I actually enjoyed listening to Young Thug - Barter 6 more than To Pimp A Butterfly.

Real good album, but if you're just expecting back to back bangers and everything that made GKMC great, you're gonna have a bad time.
It's got great tracks that stand alone on their own, it's just a whole lot different sounding than GKMC was, also tackles bigger issues, but still handles it all from Kendrick's unique perspective.
If GKMC was K-dot in the thick of it, TPAB is K-dot after he got out of that shit.
Yes. /mu/ might be the only online music community to actively shit on this album as much as they do, for no good reason whatsoever. Even getting past Kendrick's lyrics, which are the main sticking point for a lot of detractors from what I can tell, the production is second-to-none. There's lots of breadth in the sound, and the compositions are never boring. There's a lot going on, and anybody with even a modicum of taste should enjoy themselves with it. "WE WUZ KINGZZZ" or not, it's a neat album with a lot of ideas on display.
