I probably first listened to this when I was 8. Still wasn't really into music until I was about 11, when I decided The Beatles were all I was going to listen to three years.

Listened to this when it came out cause I enjoyed the singles, late 2012 and came to /mu/ asking for more hip hop albums like it

and eventually decided I like it here and I started to branch out and listen to genres other than rap.

Man, Holy Wood was one of my first too, I used to be the biggest Manson fanboy. I remember buying a CD copy of Antichrist Superstar during my lunch break in highschool & keeping it on the corner of my desk during class for the rest of the day, just so I could show people how edgy I was. The black painted nails, straightened hair & fingerless gloves didn't help much either. Those were some dark fuckin' times.

I was 8 and remember liking the closer because it had the word fuck in it and the song was catchy. But the album was so raw, hard, and even had its soft bits; still recall being blown away by this genre called industrial. Fast forward almost 22 years and I am still a huge fan, have all of the Nine Inch Nails catalogue and look forward to this years new release and your.

After listening to top40 radio songs religiously for several years, Space Dementia and Citizen Erased fucking blew my mind off
Went to see them live shortly afterwards and now im still a pleb but at least I know a lot of music

If i'm going to be honest,

>origin story
I wasn't allowed to listen to anything but Christian Rock Radio until I was eighteen, and occasionally there was the random pop hit blasting from some storefront speakers. It was the very first album I got-no research, no rec-and listened to it on a borrowed pair of headphones.
It sounds cheesy but I never thought of music as anything more than a religious gospel platform-something to listen when you want to get hyped for sunday mass, and I was very gladly removed from that funk with this album.

tldr : Music, to me or you, is better than what it could be

I went through several phases while growing where I mainly only listened to one genre at a time. However nowdays I listen to a variety of stuff simultaneously. My timeline from ages 8 to 16 went something like pop-punk>nu-metal>post-hardcore>metalcore>deathcore>idm>ambient>post-punk>shoegaze>black metal.

>mum listens to full albums

I remember singing along with her when I was around 6-7. Heard a ton of dad/momrock albums through her.
My dad was into Motown compilations and old french pop. His fave was the Temptations.

>mfw papa ended up being rolling stone

That song still gets me all kind of fucked up tbqh senpai

Same here. My old man used to be really into Sabbath and Deep Purple, and I basically grew up on their music, eventually inheriting his entire vinyl collection when he passed. Now they're amongst my favorite bands as well.

Reminder that if the first album you listened through all the way came out after 1989 you need to seriously consider suicide.

When I was 10 I found my dad's burned disc with tons of music for his DJing. This album was on there.

At 10 I thought it was great, now I'm nearly 21 and, well, yeah.

(I just posted the Encore album and I thoroughly regret not hearing of Eyedea before his passing.) My life has not been the same after hearing his music.

I'm planning on seeing them if only because this is the last tour and they're calling it quits afterwards. Also, 3 out of 4 original members ain't that bad. Sabbath certainly has had worse lineups.

Listened to nothing but popular Punk-rock and the most generic Electronic songs before this.

Still in my top 10.
