Trying to find Burzum clones, especially stuff that sounds like Filosofem and Hvis Lyset Tar Oss. I've found plenty of Atmospheric/Ambient BM bands that are similar, and sound great in their own way, but only one that sounds like an actual clone (TOBC). Some bands I've already tried are Wigrid, Wolves in the Throne Room, Coldworld, Darkspace, Walknut, Xasthur, Nargaroth... the list goes on. Chances are you guys will post bands I've already tried but it's worth a shot :p since I've already spent hours searching and listening. Help me out guys.

>darkspace

have you tried Paysage D'Hiver or Beastlor? Nobody knows about the latter.

Yeah I've tried Paysage D'hiver, pretty good stuff but not quite what I'm looking for. Haven't heard of Beastlor though so I'll give them a shot, thanks !

Yeah I came across this one too, and while I didn't feel it was Burzumy enough, it made the list of stuff I was going to keep !

You might like Nortt, although it's mainly funeral doom and it's slower and darker

I think I tried their album Galgenfist, but I'll give them a second try !

Murmuure?

I suppose it's worth noting what really defines Burzum for me is his use of synth. I really enjoy the sonar-like "bing" sounds you hear on Dunkelheit, Decrepitude, and the transission in Tomhet. I also really like the purely ambient tracks he has like Tomhet^, Rundtgaing (although it's a bit on the long side), and Han Som Reiste.

Definitely adding this one to the list. Very interesting style

Already found this one too hahaha.
It made my list though. The list being "Not Burzumy enough, but still damn good so imma download this shit"

That's exactly how I think of Burzum.

Glad someone feels the same. A lot of black metal has the same buzzing guitar tone, the same shrieked vocals, even the same chord progressions, but I can't find anyone with the same synth effects. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy ALL aspects of Burzum, it's just that the synth is the most defining aspect of the music for me. I'm also not putting down other BM either !
