I'm admittedly rather harsh. I meant 8/10 but forgot to change it. Some of the tracks feel disappointing in delivery but manage to keep a thorough tone throughout the album. That is mainly my defense for why my three ratings all have overall scores higher than the average score.
3/10 is fine, but disappointing.
5/10 is average and I'm willing to listen to it again at times.
8/10 is very good.
10/10 is once in a blue moon. To Be Kind is the only album I would actually give that rating off of the top of my head.

Did I get the count off? Stars Are Projectors is the 10/10. I think I forgot Tiny Cities Made of Ashes (7/10). Alone Down There is a 6. Gravity Rides Everything is low (and 5/10 isn't really that low) because it's always been a little boring to me, especially as the track directly after Third Planet. Lyrically it's good, but sonically doesn't do much for me. I'm also grading the album as a whole very conservatively.

Put aside the lyrics, Raw Deal is riffy as hell. And yeah, Priest were inconsistent and still finding their way on Sin After Sin. I could do without D&R; they couldn't really do justice to what was a very personal song for Joan Baez and the production also has an unwelcome disco feel to it.
Sinner is an unimpeachable masterpiece as KK Downing has said and I like Starbreaker just for its ultra-campy late 70s-ness. It just captures that era so perfectly.

Everything after Anne Bonny sounds totally unfinished. Like some really good ideas for songs, but poor execution all-around.
If anything, even though I love pillbox hat, it doesn't fit in with the album at all. It's the only song on the album that sounds fully fleshed out. Even Anne Bonny could use some work, and that's the one that everyone seems to jerk off over.
I will never understand why there are people who think Government Plates is the best Death Grips album.
