I never got into Spiderland either, I listened to it last night to give it one more try too. It's still not standing out to me as an album, but I can see how it would have had an an effect when it was released.
I'm really digging Viet Cong, first two tracks are slow, but it really gets going. Not the best album of last year, but it's definitely worth a listen

its a little science paradox gimmick that ties in with the themes of the album. the main character builds a machine that can destroy the universe = the album itself is that machine. if nothing happens after you play it then it could possibly prove divine intervention or something along those lines. its neat.
