The best thing to happen to black metal. Pretty much a bunch of French people wanted to create their own local version of the Norwegian scene so they made a secret cassette trading group where they'd record extremely raw and primitive black metal (some being more rooted in punk others being more rooted in ambience) and send each other their shit. Sorgeist, Vlad Tepes, and Mütiilation are the most well known bands to emerge from this scene.

in all seriousness the best solution is probably to listen to more music with harsh vocals until you don't mind it as much. maybe listen to something that less harsh first like To Mega Therion (by celtic frost).
