>>
>>61476879
Off the top of my head there is Blackstar and Gorillaz. Probably some more I can't think of.
>>
>>61477083

>new Bloodiest album

Sweet fucking god. I'm ready. Descent was one of my favorite fucking albums.
>>
>>61478405
its my introduction to them but I'm excited to root for an underdog since decibel magazine gave it their lowest rating of the month. decent score of 6/10 and actually a good written review though. So far I'm really interested in them getting that steve albini sound just by using the studio without him.
>>
and actually they just leaked their second song today, Suffer

https://bloodiestband.bandcamp.com/album/bloodiest
>>
You know blackstar leaked...right?
>>
>>61478503

Interesting. I'll have to find the review. I'm assuming the album hasn't actually leaked, right? Or are they just so small nobody bothered?

Either way, check out Descent. Bloodiest occupy a weird space--somewhere between Neurosis, Dax Riggs solo stuff and Sixteen Horsepower. It's fantastic.
>>
>>61476879
Old gray says there going to be more active in 2016
im pretty stoked for that
also An autumn for crippled children is putting out a new album
>>
>>61478618
I dunno I just usually follow official leaks etc.

have you heard Lion's Daughter? seems like they're kinda going for a neurosis thing which so far I'm liking.

I predict indie rock will begin the start of a slow decline.
>>
>>61478662

Well, hey, I have not but I liked what I heard. Almost reminded me of bit of Fall of Efrafa, too.
>>
>>61478728
not a bad prediction desu
>>
Any jazz or other "mature" music to check out?
>>
I'll probably really like the new Deftones album
>>
>>61479015

A new album you should check out is The Epic if you haven't heard it.

its getting called an ep
>>
>>61483279

3 minutes in and this is fucking bullshit

compared to your rating of daughter
>>
>>61483301
I put both EPs and LPs on this list. Chasms has 4 tracks but it runs for 43:37
>>
>>61483373
oh yeah I didnt mean to imply anything abotu your list I was just wondering mostly for mine

holy shit LP it is then at least for me

and thats enough for one day

wanna pace myself for the year
>>
>>61483359
hmm maybe I should rate Daughter higher. I discovered Elena a few years ago when I was heavily into crescendocore. it has a great sound but every song has the same attitude and similar structure. I didn't like the lyrics.

Also
>3 minutes in
>album is 1h 42 minutes

man, these are my personal ratings and I thought that this folk+tribal ambient+power electronics blend was brilliant
>>
>>61483441
>every song has the same attitude and similar structure.
I cant really disagree although I only heard it twice and still missing a song or two. Also I do agree with this criteria but not enough to knock it down more than one point just for that.

well yeah I'm just sayin the first song was not a good introduction but I'll keep truckin
I didn't like the lyrics.
>>
>>61483494
oh I meant to say I have no idea what the Daughter album lyrics are about or forgot
>>
>>61483494
Stuttering Sinews is my favorite track

funny cuz its true?

and the song has really only gone downhill from there. I mean two fucking notes? come on dude this sounds like something I'd write.

I'd say check out the new Lisa Hilton if you want moody jazz
>>
>>61483597
nah, funny cause you compared synth saxophone driven pop song to an ambient track. If you don't like it then don't try to listen to it.

>two notes
are you skimming this or what

>Lisa Hilton
I'm not a fan of this kind of jazz, unfortunately.

If you don't like power electronics or tribal ambient, then I'm sorry. don't get mad, it's just my personal rating, I'm not a review site
>>
>>61483677
>If you don't like it then don't try to listen to it.
and what thread do you think this is? but yeah I'm done for today.

no that is literally two notes on the piano with an alternating bass note

eh sounds pretty similar to me except yours is definitely minimalist where lisa isnt at all
>>
>>61483677
and no i was specifically just comparing the sax
>>
>>61482083
he's been writing solo material for as long as the collective has existed. he never "went solo" for any reason relating to the collective itself, and it's not a new thing.
>>
>>61483761
ok I can see why he "goes solo"

seriously that song was like an outtake of pom pom

which isnt saying much
>>
Only looking forward to the new The Wrens album.

Hey fellas, this is the Lost Salt Blood Purges dude. First, thanks for listening (both of you, regardless of conflicting opinions). It really means a lot that people are sharing and discussing the music.

On the discussion, I have to say that Stuttering Sinews wasn't trying to be a complex song. It's a minimal ambient track. The piano is just alternating notes, yes, but that's what I wanted for the track. If you listen to the whole record you'll notice more in-depth use of piano compositions in certain tracks, and in others (like the closer), it will once again maintain heavy repetition.

Of course, that doesn't have to be your thing. You can dislike the style all you want. But I think you're somehow making expectations for a track that was never trying to be what you're making out like it should be.

Overall the album's focus is on drone and ambient compositions set within the realm of other genres. Try not to think of it as moody jazz, and more drone music inspired by jazz.

Probably seems lame as fuck that I'm discussing my own music (or defending), but whatevz. Thanks for taking your time to listen and discuss!

Gorillaz' new release. I don't have a picture of the album cover or advertisements because it's barely even fully recorded.

Definitely won't happen, you'll never see that side of her now.
>>
Do you guys think Swans will release a new album this year? (Sorry if it's a stupid question and they announced it, don't really follow that stuff)
For those who listened to The Gate, what do you think the next album will be like?

i thought indie rock was pretty much dead in terms of critics and "cool factor."

I'm kinda interested in new Steven Wilson, even though it's just throwaways from his weakest album

I am very pumped for this.
I know /mu/ thinks they're too white and cheesy and boring etc. but I still listen to MVotC frequently.

I doubt she's being rushed. She just seems like she can't just relax and has to always be working on something. I'm not expecting anything similar to Krokodil but I don't think she's going to make something identical to S/T.
