Is there a worse band than Aerosmith in existence?
Death Grips
As always there is, and it's so bad that you haven't even heard of it because they never came out of the basement they practice in.
What exactly is the problem with them again?

came here to post this
>implying toys in the attic and rocks aren't good albums
Which is your fave Aerosmith song?
Funky upbeat sourthern rock song or power ballad?
>>61466387
buttiest of buttrock, might as well be assrock
"I remember reading in a magazine at the time of the media and parents' groups decrying the filth in rock music and one of them actually cited Walk This Way as a nice, sweet, innocent song that more rock groups should aspire to make. I wonder if they ever actually looked up the lyrics to that song."
-- Steven Tyler
What exactly is buttrock anyway? /mu/ has never quite been clear on this.
>>61466501
So getting a lot of radio play is a sin?
>>61466501
get off your high horse, you enjoy buttrock too from time to time
>>61466551
Basically, lunkhead rock about partying and getting laid. See - Exile-era Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Kiss, Motley Crue, GNR, etc.
>>61466554
Aerosmith really didn't get radio play in the 70s, that didn't come until their late 80s revival.
>>61466501
I seriously fucking hate you teenagers.
>>61466554
Well, yeah. The funny thing is that /mu/ would love U2 if they didn't get radio play/perform in stadiums.
>>61466615
Butt-rock is almost exclusively defined as post-grunge to anyone except /mu/.
There's also literally nothing stupid about making high energy rock music about partying, drugs and sex. It never intended to be anything profound, it's enjoyable because it's fun.
>>61466763
I blame it on the Brits for turning music that was supposed to something kids danced and had sex to into socialist whining.
>>61466718
God it's such an immature way of looking at music
Liking obscure shit doesn't make you special, it means that you have just as much free time as you have insecurity.
>>61466718
This a million times.
If U2 were some obscure shit, they would be loved by /Mu/ so fucking much

Great criticism, bro

Sweeeeeeeeeeet Emoooooootion
Probably blood on the dance floor
Aerosmith were innovative and influential in the 70s; many bands have cited them as an influence including Metallica, GNR, Whitesnake, Motley Crue, Nirvana. They pretty much invented power ballads and Steven Tyler did a new kind of rock vocal. Nobody before him sounded like that.
Unfortunately they became horrible drug addicts and their stay at the top was short. After years of irrelevance they reemerged in the late 80s as a boring-as-shit Top 40 hit factory. And then I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing. *shudder*
>>61466791
True

>many bands have cited them as an influence including Metallica, GNR, Whitesnake, Motley Crue, Nirvana
What? That's a strike against Aerosmith.
>>61466445
They are, although I never liked TITA title track or Back In The Saddle. They're annoying as hell songs.
>>61467096
They're pretty good NWOBM on the first two albums.
>>61466008
There's Guns and Roses, and post Dark Side of The Moon Pink Floyd.
>>61466615
That doesn't properly describe a bunch of those bands who in a lot of cases had darker songs as well.
Dream Theatre
Best Coast
AC/DC
all just as, or more terrible
Aerosmith is awesome the fuck you guys on
>>61469936
Get off of /mu/, Joe Perry.
They had a good run in the 70s for a little while not that it lasted any length of time. Their post-85 stuff is just manufactured soccer mom music written with professional songwriters.

>Liking obscure shit doesn't make you special,
I agree with this
>it means that you have just as much free time as you have insecurity
And now you're just taking it too far in the other direction. So if someone like obscure music they're automatically insecure? And you're posting on a chinese cartoon forum, you shouldn't really be grilling people about having too much free time
>>61466008
I can't think of one off-hand.
Death Grips, Anco, Grimes, St Vincent, Chrvches... the list goes on and on
who >dudelookslikealady/ here?
