What about Reily/Street controversy? Did Vini Reily wrote the entire album as he claims? He looks like a fucking junkie.

>Contradiction (Score:4, Informative)
>No disrespect to Vini Reilly, but if you read Johnny Rogan's book, wherein Vini speaks about making Viva Hate, you find a complete contradiction of what he's now saying. If I read this correctly, Vini is now complaining that he wasn't given a writing credit on 'Viva Hate' but he told Johnny Rogan he thought that "those songs were saved from being utterly mediocre only by Morrissey's performance". He then tells how Street completely restricted his input, that he added a few effects to Dial A Cliche "to make it interesting for [himself]" but that he was "waiting for the vocal to go down" cos Street's backing tracks were so dull. Rather suggests that Street wrote the tracks and Vini added what he could instrumentally don't you think? In other words, Vini didn't co-write Viva Hate with Moz, Stephen Street did, but Vini spiced it up with his guitar-playing. All this by Vini's own admission. He and Street certainly seem to intensely dislike one another!

After a couple of hours I figured this out. What a relieve. I get obsessed with stuff sometimes.

listen Durutti Column m8, some parts on viva h8 could be as well on his albums, but probably its not entirely true what he says and moz had just as much credit in creating it

You mean Stephen Street, right? Morrissey wrote lyrics and vocal melodies.

oh, must educate myself in this matter desu, but listening to this album made me feel similar like when listening to durutti column with moz vox, but maybe its just because of some guitar tonesthat vini uses often

Stephen Street also produced some of DC albums. That's why there might be similarities. If Reily co-wrote Viva Hate then why he didn't complain after it was released when he wasn't given songwriting credit.
This post really clarifies this issue.>>61458726
