I like the cover a lot. The beat itself reminds me of Dj Shadow and Bonobo type trip hop, which I was never really huge on, but it sounds competent and it's good to see someone not only using jazz loops like most other lofi producers. The cello/violin is refreshing.

>>61443030
lol pussy
>>61443394
I'm not defending the low quality of music on soundcloud, but in a thread like this where it's 90% bedroom producers seeking feedback from peers some low effort junk is to be expected.
>>61443508
"pussy"?
>how?
he's just stating his opinion.
>>61443522
Feedback is necessary for an early producer to find his/her beat but everyone here like flaunts their terribleness and their "peers" praise them on tracks that i could make in 2 hours using FL Studio and a ton of samples. If you want feedback, great, but get feedback on stuff you tried on. Dont come here for praise on literal shit noises packed into and MP3 file and uploaded to your "official" soundcloud page

>>61443677
in a way, posting at all on these soundcloud threads is unproductive because its always the same, "lofi" bedroom artists just telling eachother "hello senpai great job on YOUR shit noises please go listen to MY shit noises now!" how does one progress when theyre convinced their "music" is good when its lowkey awful
And >>61443692
my bad kid ill listen to your stuff
>>61443588
yeah, there is a bit of a circlejerk going on in that regard, but your distinction based on genre is completely unwarranted. There's just as high a percentage of mediocre hip hop beats, terrible acoustic guitar stuff, and generic trap and dubstep. They're genre tagged anyways, so next time just skip people who tag as lo fi or "dankwave" or whatever it is that you don't like.
>>61443794
i mean youre right, when i originally posted i was half kidding anyways so at this point im just letting a fellar know why im not a "pussy"
And p.s. i listened to your House, rowdyyghost i actually really liked that but the newer demo sounds like it needs some work, i didnt hear any sampling which is good its a bad habit to get into with EDM keep it up.
>>61443825
I didn't mean it when I called you an asshole either, just trying to keep the thread on topic
>>61442985
Man,that's really good and chill.I like it
>>61443752
posting on here isn't unproductive, what are you talking about? sure there are going to be shitty projects but each time I come to one of these threads, there is at least one artist I will follow and support. the people that are good will progress, those that aren't won't. just because there is shitty ambient music doesn't mean there isnt fucking great ambient
https://soundcloud.com/dasef/dreamland
>dubstep
>still a beginner
>needs feedback and tips
>>61443881
i mean youre right as well, i just hadnt thought about that. Guess it's like a big game of Food Chain, and i gotta let the garbage take it's course
>>61443752
although i don't necessarily agree with the whole "lo-fi" thing, i understand where you're coming from. it's repetitive seeing the same stuff over and over again. and as a producer, it can get annoying when people give you nothing but positive praise. not that i'm ungrateful, but i need something to work with so i can improve my sound.
>>61443853
>>61443881
You two are the first to comment on my stuff ive posted in like 6 different SC threads already thank you i appreciate it
>>61443905
>>61443913
yeah you're both right, it gets annoying seeing people post the same track over three months but watching young producers improve and network is fuckin' cool. we're all in the same boat, I don't understand the hostile mentality. if you don't like something, just dont listen to it

Alright, just as promised
The keys sound very nice, and I'm enjoying the rhythmic and melodic interplay of the instruments as a whole. As I used to kind of make stuff like this in the fusion context, I can offer a few pointers:
The distorted tone of the guitar is a tad muddy and drags down the piece as a whole
The bass needs some more presence in the mix, as do the drums
Some of the sections have a rhythmic lapse here and there, but I'm sure that was most likely intentional
Still, great playing, and the song structure is surely entertaining

Thank you so much. I always need constructive criticism as a producer. I'll probably add a high-pass filter to the guitars to make them stand out in the mix. I've always had trouble mixing bass so I understand your point. It's either too loud or too soft. I should probably compress the track more to have more control over the dynamics. Oh, and the rhythmic lapses were caused by a faulty export of the files that I overlooked. I was hoping someone would notice that.
