I am none of the above, but I went to one of their shows in my country. It was a big fucking stage with seats. I would've wanted it to become a non-seated one but whatever

It's fucking awesome, especially if they play Moya or Piss Crowns, and there was a new song actually, it's nice
And when they are done playing, they left the instruments in delay and fucking instruments played the drone theirselves and we fucking eargasmed the second time after Moya's 7th minute crescendo.
It was the best one indeed.

well, i'm in america (saw them in denver) so people here just don't tend to dance a lot, lol. everyone told me "they're impossible to dance to" but idk i had an easy enough time with it.

venue was small, so they just walked right out the front door like 15 minutes after the show ended. only a few people even recognized them, so it was easy enough to go up and chat. i was really starstruck tbqh and was just kind of blathering about.

NMH back in January 2014. The whole experience was one giant, joyous, communal sing-along.
>>
>>61437817
Sounds lame but honestly the most emotional experience I've ever encountered.

The only way I can explain it is if you listen to their music, you can tell there's obviously a shitload of emotion and passion pumped into it, and when I saw it live, it was like I was feeling all that at the same time.

So when they were playing Gathering Storm I just had this overwhelming surge of happiness that I nearly cried, and then during some of the darker movements I found myself contemplating how shit I feel and how I hate my life even though I don't at all and I kept wanting to leave and it fucked me up man.

I dunno if that's just me but it was easily the best performance I've ever seen just for how different it was to anything else I've ever seen.

If it wasn't for that though my favourite would be seeing Deafheaven at ArcTanGent festival last year, I actually couldn't listen to any other music for a good hour or so because it didn't make me feel anything.
>>
I'd have to say R.E.M.
>>
>>61441785
Totally feel you man, saw them at the Emirates stadium in 2013. Considering I'd been waiting maybe 8-9 years to see them, it was probably the most special concert I've ever been to. Saw them in Nashville. Almost cried during some of the visual stuff. Told Moya or whoever was the other guitarist that it was a great show, he slightly smiled and said thanks. Worth it.

Animal Collective/Dan Deacon at the 9:30 6/12, the one they released the live album for. So good and full of energy. Was right infront of Dan and jesus I was smiling like a little kid. Animal Collective killed during Brother Sport and Purple Bottle. I was out of breath. Oddly enough during AnCo I didn't know it but from the footage most of the people near the back weren't as crazy as we were near the front.
>>
Definitely FlyLo. Didn't expect much from him live, but damn it blew me away.
>>
>>61444642
Every anco show ive been to everyone passed around a shit ton of weed. purple bottle is always tight live
>>
>>61433924
when i saw man-man like 6 or 7 years ago (like a week before they dropped rabbit habits) in a coffeeshop. they played like that whole album. played for like 2 and a half hours, and they never let up the intensity.

i have never danced to a band so hard in my entire life. easily more intense than any punk or metal show ive ever been to and about 9000x more fun.
>>
>>61444761
I was sober only because I was driving I think. In Nashville at the end of their CHZ tour the crowd blew. I plan on seeing them again and either tripping or smoking. Either way will be great.
>>
Urfaust without a doubt, the atmosphere these guys created was insane
>>
Radiohead for the grandiose been-waiting-ten-years aspect of it. It was pretty massive, they played all of my old favourites.

My favourite regular not-stadium gig was definitely Lightning Bolt. It was on Halloween. Me and some dude threw a one of the foldbacks but we felt bad so we crawled onstage and rearranged it mid drum solo. They honoured my drunken request to play Dead Cowboy as an encore.

Honourable mentions include The Flaming Lips, Portishead, Swans, Holy Fuck and Neutral Milk Hotel.

Death Grips

Panda Bear comes very very very close. His show was hands down, the most euphoric feeling I will ever feel in my lifetime. I saw him a couple months ago, his visuals have gotten so good, the only way to describe it is a mesmerizing transcendental hypnotization of utter bliss. I was in front row rolling on 250mg of X, best thing I've ever done. I'll hold this memory close to me for the rest of my life.

no one said this. the show can be all about the music and their doesn't have to have a flashy light show or wow factor to be good. the intensity and energy can be raised to a degree that you can't quite capture on an album, and can become much more compelling. making music the priority doesn't mean that they're gonna play it exactly how they do on the album.

Primus with Gogol Bordello at Red Rocks was probably my favorite.

Flaming lips, that being said I've never had much fun during concerts. I don't wanna be "le wrong generation" but one of my Uncles saw King Crimson in 1973 and another saw Hendrix in 1969 play the national anthem (not at woodstock obviously). I would pay thousands to experience that now.

Saw these guys twice. Once at warp tour and once at a very small, cramped venue.
The second show at the smaller venue was easily one of the craziest shows I've ever been to in my entire life. Drummer brought his entire kit into the crowd and everyone started a circle pit around him.

man i would KILL to see guitar wolf live, i hear their shows are fucking crazy!
>>
>>61433924
Best band would be Between the Buried and Me. They performed the Parallax 1 the first time I saw them the second one the second time. They are on point. Especially the drummer. Blakey eats steaky lol. No wonder he does 50 push-ups in a row before he performs.

But best single musician was Buckethead by light years. The only way to get that good is to want to be that good. He definitely loves playing guitar. He played Jordan with the guitar hero solo for the first time ever when I saw him (SF at the start of his tour) and it melted the entire audience into lava and we had to call for Superman to come save us. He didn't make it because Batman is better and cut him down by replacing his normal super condoms with a kryptonite condom and he exploded an turned into Buckethead and played the solo to Jordan for the first time and melted the entire

One of my fondest concerts was when I saw Stick To Your Guns in this shitty hole in the wall venue. They got booked last minute so people didn't know that they were even playing, and across the street Terror was playing a bigger venue.
All the XTRUEX hardcore kids bailed on the shit venue to go see Terror, so when Guns came up to play the audience consisted of me and maybe 15 other people. The show went like this: "Hey, what song do you want us to play?" We'd give them songs and they played them. We all got up on stage and jumped around with them.
I don't listen to their music anymore as I've grown out of that genre but it's always been a unique memory of my teenage years.
>>
I really had a great time when I saw Anamanaguchi
>>
>>61457823
totally forgot to add them to mine! they were fucking great when i saw them

their set was super short though, only played like 25 minutes, it sucked

Zach Hill literally never stopped drumming for a second the man is a monster
>>
I've only ever seen The National. Sufjan Stevens was present too. Living in a small island has many cons regarding music gigs.
>>
>>61457881
tough luck man, the setlist they played when I saw them was at least an hour long, it was really great! Would love to see them again but they havent come for quite some time.

Exodus
>>
>>61443700
Glad to hear it man. Sounds weird but, if you get a chance, go take a bathroom break or something during the set. I remember doing that once or twice and it was honestly the most surreal thing going from that atmosphere back into the real world I couldn't even comprehend it. Me and my friend barely shared a word with each other on the walk back to the train station afterwards because we couldn't figure out what to say about it
