Does anyone else think the stereo mix on the 2009 remasters is too distracting? The sound quality itself is incredible, but the stereo is panned so hard either way that it breaks up the track instead of creating a full sound.

Stereo wasn't popular technology until the late 60s, so most of the mixing effort was focused on the mono mixes. Stereo was an afterthought.
