What does /mu/ think of Blondie?

Great band, underrated in this board

I used to love parallel lines when I was 6
Xgau worships them but that's just because he's biased towards New York artists.
I like them but some of their more recent releases I ask myself what were they thinking.

That cover really seems like a preview of the 80s.
The late 70s-early 80s was a boomtime for female music talent - Debbie Harry, Wendy O. Williams, Chrissie Hynde, Joan Jett. Not the Wilson sisters because they suck.

I wonder why the Wilsons aren't held in as high standing as some of those others.
Debbie's got a great singing voice. Also one of the sexiest women ever.
She's my 80s waifu

Well, more 70s desu since Blondie completely stopped being relevant after 1980.

For one thing, they suck but another reason is that Heart innovated nothing and just rode on existing 70s sounds. Blondie, the Pretenders, and the Plasmatics were central to the original punk movement - they set the stage for the 80s.

She still looks good for almost 70, though she also never had any kids.
