Motorhead never put out a bad album, but nothing can top the classic line up with Fast Eddie and Philthy Animal, who people seem to forget died a month ago.

Lemmy is more than a "flavor of the month" until a few days ago he was a living legend. been a motorhead fan since '84 and wish i had discovered them 5 years earlier. for people that wish to get their toes wet i suggest the No Remorse compilation; if you dig it then get the entire catalog. not a lemon in the bunch. Motorhead and AC/DC came along in the late 70s at a much-needed time when basic rawk was in short supply - everything was disco, Kiss, and prog noodling. Then these two bands show up, one British and the other Australian and they proved that rawk was still possible. They didn't wear crazy costumes (except maybe Angus Young's schoolboy getup), they didn't sing about wizards, dragons and Satan, and they didn't do prog noodling.

my favorite motorhead albums are actually the more rock'n'roll-oriented on parole/self-titled and the dense, murky orgasmatron, but of course works like overkill and ace of spades are classics as well.
