>>61390273
Dunno why, but I've never seen this album on /mu/ before. I wouldn't call it AOTY, but it definitely landed in my top 10 this year.
One of the better metalcore/hardcore albums I've heard in awhile. Glad they got back together to make make one more record
Marilyn Manson - Pale Emperor
This is a really damn good album and is the point where Manson finally realized he is getting old and the edgy shit is old and busted. No more vampire tracks or heavy songs trying to harken back to Antichrist Superstar like he did with his last release Born Villain which was terrible.
The album flows really well and though not all the tracks are great, there are enough really good tracks (Killing Strangers, Deep 6, Binge, Mephistopheles, Devil Beneath my feet) that make this album a solid 8 out of 10 and one of best rock/blues albums of the year.

Actually I'd say Born Villain was the album where he realized all that, but he didn't have a strong concept or aesthetic to back him up yet.
The Pale Emperor is the natural progression of Born Villain, except it has that sick gothic noir aesthetic.
>>61394285
yeah, TPAB and In Colour, such underrated gems
>>61390273
This wasn't anything special.
>>61390550
This got more than enough praise.
>>61392301
Ya
>>61394340
I tried to like Born Villain because I really loved High End Of Low and Eat Me Drink Me. High End of Low was especially experimental with tracks like Devour and Blank and White being two of my fav Manson tracks of all time. Born Villain started out good with Hey Cruel World, but the rest of the album just plods along with nothing standing out, especially the bland single No Reflection.
But yea, the Pale Emperor was a success in almost every place Villain had failed and though Pale Emperor is the shortest MM album, it has so many top-tier tracks.
sun coming down was slept on big time
by far
>>61394600
no clams its shit
>>61392301
One of my favorites, and incredible lyricism but
"real hiphop" losers will discredit any lyrics as soon as they hear southern drums
Everyone assumed it was just a meme.
>>61390972
This is also good and underappreciated.
