Get a vintage TT that's semi or manual and a new cart for it. Spend around 150 bucks, will sound 10 times better and not kill your records. It's the same needle as on the crosley, search eBay for turntable stylus and look for the 1 dollar ones from hong kong, that's the scratcher itself and it's on this table.
