I listened to it late last night and really enjoyed it. While their first record was decent, I think it got a bit too much praise/hype and probably deserved a more tepid response. ZCS seems to have more ideas this time around and it certainly shows in a double album with more songwriting proficiency by and large. The amount of tracks that are at least "good" is exciting. Several standouts are Out of Mind, Bent (Roy's Song), Blue Boredom (Sky's Song) (Sky is channeling Kim Gordon and Patti Smith a bit here), Valentine, Mire (Grant's Song), and Dust. I'm getting a lot of Sonic Youth vibes from this album and there's a subtle krautrock influence too (I think he's said something about Can and Neu as influences). This is sure a great start for music in 2016.

I think 'Valentine', 'Is the is Are', 'Dust' and 'Dopamine' the best tracks in this album, but 'Oshin' is better

Dust was completely ruined by the vocals and the fact that it ended to abruptly. The drumming is too low and weak. Should have done more songs in the vein of Healthy Moon.

give up, oshin is better
Some really strong tracks and some really weak ones. I like the fact that it's more varied than Oshin but it feels like some of the styles just don't work well, especially the darker and less melodic ones. Feeling a 6/10 but I need to give it more time to breathe.

The vocal mixing on Dust sounds wrong
Pretty unremarkable after a couple more listens. Loose Ends and Dust are the only ones that stand out to me in any way. Wait, Human, Earthboy, and even Doused are all miles better than anything on this album. I mean what even is (Fuck)?
The fact that anyone still takes this trust funded, fashion model fuckboy and his bland, derivative redditcore music seriously is baffling to me.
