Pennsylvania confirmed best state of 2015
>>61336974
hopefully no
Grunge was horrible and the only reason it became a thing was because Pearl Jam and Nirvana were super popular.
>>61336974
Depends, is strange wilds technically grunge? Also, superheaven
ITT: people think shitty pop albums like Nevermind, Ten, Dirt, Superunknown, etc. are grunge
real grunge (like Bleach) was never really popular so there's nothing to come back to
there will never be another bleach
it just did...
>>61337132
damn...
>>61336974
Probably not, but people sure are trying to give it a comeback.

Balance and Composure are more like an emo band with some shoegaze and metal influences than a grunge band. Reflection sounds like it could be a Deftones song.

Really? I honestly think grunge was one of the best genres of the 90s. It was essentially a facilitator for experimentation; every grunge band pretty much had a completely distinct sound.
As someone who was actually a young adult when grunge became the trend, I sure hope not.

That's not grunge.
>>61336974
grunge is inherently shit. nothing more than try-hard rockists acting edgy to look cool and appeal to a demographic. it's horrible but unfortunately trends are cyclical. pic related. the ironic phase was the cancerous ocean grunge bs that happened here last year. the sudden resurgence of nirvana on this board is the nostalgic phase, and we're about to enter the conservative phase where it's considered legitimately good. (all these fags trying to push that pile of shit kid cudi album) it's unstoppable because you guys are a bunch of sensationalist contrarian pricks who can't think critically about music outside of a social context. you're just in it for the trendiness.
tldr: yes it will happen but i won't be happy about it and i hope you all jump off a cliff
>>61337744
Every heap of shit was marketed as grunge. I was there.
>>61336974
>Will grundge ever make a comeback
No
>Will people get tired of over polished music leading to a new kind of Alt rock
Yes
>Will the music industry flood the market with similar music and even eventually use the same genre for vastly different sounding music
Yes
>>61337002
Also Fidlar reminds me sort of of some Nirvana.
>>61337919
pretty much this
lmao kid cudi was trying
Grunge can only survive in the hearts of heroin addicts. Drug culture aided in the rise, and that culture is falling back into the woods of Canada, Oregon, and Washington. It can't become big again with the current climate of the world. It was a way to speak out for the time, but I can't see it connecting with the issues of the next 5-10 years.

But basement is shite
Grunge is a nonsense media term honestly. Nirvana was more like noise rock/garage punk early on.
It's gone. Product of it's time, like Nicki Minaj today

Experimentation in what? In forgetting any chord that wasn't a power chord? In limiting your subject matter to the point where most emotions in human life are seen as not having a place? In ripping off Sonic Youth and Black Sabbath?
