name its flaws
no cop outs like >it ends
>it has a few weak songs
>too popular

How on earth is Dissection popular?
Trent's lyrics are sometimes cringy (but the honesty behind them is what makes them listenable).
Reptile is too long and too slow of pace to remain interesting after 3 minutes.
Ruiner feels forced and comes out of nowhere after the amazing ending to Closer.
Burn isn't included.
Other than that it's perfect.

All I can ever think about when I see this album is the drums on the last song. It blows everything else away and I like the album
>>61334148
that album I mean, though not as much as filosofem or some other shit
>>61334348
Go to bed elands.
it's too dope
I've always disliked the second half of Leave It Open
>>61333779
I think the only song that's weak is Shit Luck but even then it's still kind of catchy
>>61333779
i dont like the last 2 songs
It set the bar too high
muh filler
>it ends
>some tracks are too short and would be better if longer
>it has a few very weak songs
>>61333779
>some of the songs sound a bit similar.
>drinkin drinkin drinkin drinkin coca coca cola
Another Set of Bees In The Museum
Looking for Quiet Seeds
Could have added one more song to be the ending song. Hats Off is a fine song, but should be more of a middle track. Would have loved to have another guitar ballad like Since I've been Loving You to close it out. While I feel this album was much more inspired than their first 2, the first 2 are more memorable and stand out better in Led Zeppelin's discography than this one. I know the majority of this album was written by Plant and Page but I would have liked a little more input from Jones and Bonham. When this band puts their minds together, they create great things (ex: When the Levee Breaks... written by the whole band. Inb4 they plagiarized blues musicians. Well imho, they took a sound and perfected it. All blues musicians rip each other off anyways). Also, I have this problem with all of Led Zeppelin albums, they are usually only capable of writing 2 types of songs: songs about sex and songs about lord of the rings and nerd stuff. The 1970s were a controversial time and I'm sure if they put their thinking caps on their heads instead of on their penises, they could have written some amazing topical lyrics. Other than that, this is my favorite album and I love it.
>Inb4 pleb
>Inb4 dadrock
>Inb4 talentless Hacks
>Inb4 plagiarizing
Absolutely nothing
The defining feature of the album is a parody.
Also, it drags a teensy bit in the second half
-hidden track, seriously why
-I wish the brass melody continued in The National Anthem instead of having only free jazz in the foreground for like 2 minutes
-Motion Picture Soundtrack should've used mercados in the rhythm, sounds a little rushed, also I wish some of the harps played in the scale instead of just doing glissandos over and over
>>61338922
I think I see the youtube logo every time I look at that cover indirectly
>>61338998
That's a pretty big flaw.
>>61338640
I like that part
>Uffie
I actually enjoy Tthhee Ppaarrttyy when it kicks in though, literally just fuck Uffie.
Also, why the fuck are Let There Be Light and Stress the longest songs on the album?
>>61338894
why are spiderfags so cringe
>>61333779
this album is just an amalgamation of other modest mouse album ideas
TMAA is goat
>>61338974
Same album
>Motion Picture Soundtrack is too bleak and boring to be the closer, the acoustic version would've been better imo
>Way too much silence on MPS, hidden track is also unnecessary
>How to Disappear Completely would be better if it was just the orchestra
>Treefingers could be cut down in length by about one and a half minutes
>Some tracks are weaker than others
>It's ska
>>61338390
Satan Speeds up is probably my least favorite track as well but come on, Her & I is fantastic. The chord progression/melody is just so sunny and infectious.
>>61339293
It is perfect
>>61333779
songs tend to blend together if you're not paying real close attention, but otherwise I agree
that fucking ending is amazing, I've been seeing it get a lot more love on here recently which is nice
>>61339418
Love seeing this posted
Phenomenal album
> It's become a meme
> There's defo some filler towards the end
>>61339535
Fuck That is the closest thing to filler and it's still pretty good
>>61339554
Agreed. I was a heavy /mu/ browser when everyone thought this was the shit and I took a break until about a week ago and now all anyone talks about is how it's garbage and a meme. I don't get it
>>61339580
That's /mu/ for you
>>61339580
your first mistake was giving a shit what /mu/ thinks
>>61339535
System Blower's beat goes so hard. I feel if they turned the instrumental all the way up at a live show, the stage would collapse.
>>61339604
For real. I saw them in KS on this tour and I was waiting for them to play System Blower the whole time, but it never happened
>>61339646
Saw them at FYF, most intense live show I've seen. Nearly collapsed due to exhaustion. Don't be in the front of a DG show unless you are fully hydrated and well rested. They don't screw around. No stage banter. Soundcheck took them about 1 minute. They perform with every fiber of their being. All the songs on Money Store trano later very well live. They played a lot off that album and Government Plates.
>>61339693
*translate well live
(Sorry for the typo)
You could delete tracks 1 through 5 and no one would mind or even notice
>>61339804
I would!!!!
>>61339535
it really has become a meme, this guy asked me if I've listened to it and my first reaction was to laugh
>>61339804
But Fearless is the best thing David and Roger ever wrote together, you fucking retard
>Intro
>You Light My Fire
>Moment
>All the throwbacks to Some Nights. Wish he would stop with that shit.
>theres like 3 songs that add basically nothing to the album, the 2nd disc is another "album" but half of it is literally outtakes, one song is just a stereolab sample played in reverse, and some of the material used for the 2nd cd was previously posted to their blog and just reused
Savours of Jazz Ballet is kind of awkward
>gets boring after first 5 songs
>everything after that sounds the same
I fucking love tycho
it was between this, Com Truise - In decay, and Washed Out - Paracosm
Dive still gives me chills everytime
>gonna listen to this album right before I kill myself, specifically title track
While the vocals are 10/10, it likes to repeat lyrics across songs. In addition to that, Yonah is the most repetitive piece of shit.
The first track doesn't hold up as well as the others. It's pretty neat, but nothing spectacular (the 2nd half in particular)
>>61341046
Dedicated To You is too long.
The second side is ridiculously inferior to the first.
>"even I could make this"
>"But you didn't"
Basically this album is very simple. Any entry level musicians (John Cale was classically trained but didn't play very traditionally on this album. Mainly used the viola for drone and noise purposes) could get together and make this. The thing is, the velvet underground did first, and that's why they are legends.
Most definitely too long. I'd cut parts of Slightly All The Time and most of Out-Bloody-Rageous (probably just leave the Riley-influenced organ)
The sax in Moonshake is just bad and out of place. In fact, Moonshake in general is just strange, but I guess I don't mind it being on the album.
2nd half of Bel-Air is a bit weak (at least in comparison to the first which is some of the best music I've heard)
>Everything about Hardcore Hustle
Americas Most Blunted is somewhat tolerable but the skit doesn't fit and is annoying as fuck to listen too.
Besides that one of my favorites and a classic.
>>61333779
>Oliveri screams too much on two songs and is not as much of an enjoyable vocalist as Josh Homme
>the songs written by him are generally a lot weaker lyrically
>he's still alright though
>That's it
>Not all of the songs blend well. Some are too poppy and beatlemania-ish and some are try-hard experimental
>the only paul song worthy of being here is "for no one"
>Love You Too is too Indian. George could have added some more instruments to make the song truly his instead of a traditional Indian song with English lyrics.
>yellow submarine (aka most boring Beatles song next to Bungalow Bill and Eleanor Rigby)
>Doctor Robert and I Want To Tell You are great songs but feel incomplete. Both would be better songs if they were about 2 minutes longer, thus allowing room for more dynamics
>More usage of tape loops and backwards guitar would have been nicer, but only if used tastefully.
>60s were a controversial time. It seems the only song here making any political and social commentary is Taxman. They could have expanded on the idea of social commentary without being too political
>Tomorrow Never Knows was the first song they started working on in the Revolver sessions.... why did they not try and make any more songs in the same vein as that? How did Yellow Submarine and Good Day Sunshine make the cut?
>I feel 1967 is the year they truly moved forward and broke from Beatlemania. While there are songs like I'm Only Sleeping and Tomorrow Never Knows, there's also songs like Good Day Sunshine that belong on Beatles For Sale.
Haha that's pretty much the most I can criticise this album. It's so damn good.
>AND MISS AND MISS AND MISS AND MISS AND MISS AND MISS AND MISS
>>61341140
Shadows of Tomorrow is the one I always skip.
>>61341111
>2nd half of Bel-Air is a bit weak
okie dokie buckaroo
>>61341437
After the little stop in the middle the way they come back in is fantastic, but as soon as they start improvising afterwards - it's not even close to what they've done in the first half.
>>61341457
I might be a bit biased because it is my most listened to and favorite song, but I think you might be a tad retarded.
the bends
>Is It In My Head is pointless
>Keith Moon's singing on Bell Boy is cringe-worthy
>Outdated concept
>People prefer Tommy
the covers
>>61341140
>>61341294
I always see people diss Hardcore Hustle and Shadows of Tomorrow, but those are some of the best imo. Just different opinions I guess
Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun is the only song I don't absolutely love. Still like it a lot, don't love it. Fantastic album though of course.
Should ended it after track eight.
The last song reminds of something Kenny Loggins would have written. Really bad 80s drums.
