FIFY
>hide was born in St. Joseph's Hospital in Midorigaoka, Japan, on December 13, 1964 and went on to attend Yokosuka Tokiwa Junior High School. He was first exposed to rock music at the age of fifteen, through the album Alive! by Kiss. That same year his grandmother bought him his first electric guitar, a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe.[3][4]

I guess it depends on who you ask. Personally, I like Kiss, and had fun when I saw them in 2009. The best part was they record their own shows and you can buy the show and take it home on a C.D. when the concert is over. (I't would be even better if they filmed their concerts and offered them on DVD or Blu-Ray that night as well, but having a C.D. of the show I just attended is equally as cool!)

you edgy net lords would have loved KISS back in the day because of all the satanic controversy and Mama and Daddy would not have approved.
Kings in Satan's Services...Knights in Satans Services. KISS was very black. and other then Ozzy and Sabbath. They were the first with that distinction

>implying I ever went through an edgy phase like you
>>
>>61318669
They're fucking bizarre and their first three records are filthy gold. Them and T-Rex are the heights of Glam Rock (excluding Bowie).
>>
>>61320852
I'm 54 years old. I never went through an edgy phase. I did buy Destroyer on 8-Trackj, Mostly for Beth. Never saw KISS live. Was more into the top 40 at the time.

You're forgetting one other nice gentleman.

>>61318721
Or, since X Japan came after KISS, X Japan is a rich man's KISS

Ace and Peter were the quintessential Glam musicians. So simple but so flashy and sassy.

>>61320873
maybe I'm talking to the Death Grips meme crowd then.

They were all great performers. Ace is probably the only one worth raving about in regards to technical skill.

Oh fuck no

This guy knows

It all started when i watched Detroit Rock City when I was a teen.
I'm thorough indoctrinated with Kiss as a Mythos. The songs are like hearing Taps back in bootcamp, it's comforting in a more psychological (spiritual?) than musical way.

>>61318669
oldfag here. total fanatic for the band from '75-'79. never bought dynasty- soured on them at that time. saw them in 1977 when i was 13. alot of rough edges. saw them again in 1996 - they were much more polished. they were good at doing what they do.
>>
>>61321044
Fool's too old to be on here. My Dad is a younger man than that guy and I'm a full grown man.
>>
I like the crap out of Destroyer, but I can't seem to find another album of theirs that really nails it like that one. Any recs?
>>
>>61321279
Their s/t debut for sure
>>
>>61321255
You're never too old to discuss music, in fact age brings experience and wisdom to the board. No more immature rejects, please.
>>
I don't mind Kiss, I used to hate them because "death to false metal/glam/whatever" but some of their earlier stuff is neat

I fucking love disco Kiss

This is from a day and age when you couldn't just go on youtube to see your favorite band live. I was great and influential for it's time (getting to hear the explosions go off/ hearing the crowd etc.). For what it is as a history lesson, it's great. But as an actual album, fairly average. Best production quality at the time to be quite honest, my family member.
