The only people I can think of are mostly "memes" not that I don't like them. Death Grips, OPN, SOPHIE etc.
>>
>>61308341
>Death Grips, OPN, SOPHIE
OPN is the only one of those three that qualifies.
>>
>>61308412
wew get mr patrician, you certainly won't be caught enjoying "meme music"

What sounds like Death Grips? just because you don't like them you can't deny they have a very new sound

>>
>>61308511
Knew you were going to say Dalek. I'm not saying Death Grips invented industrial hip hop but they have an incredibly distinctive and original sound(s) within that genre and outside of it.
>>
>>61308493
I don't like AnCo but I guess they're right there, but..
>radiohead
>avant garde
>>
>>61308553
ofcourse they aren't copying other bands, but that doesn't mean there's 'pushing borders'. For the record: I like DG alot.

>>61308341
but to answer the question: xinluisupreme, lakker, jerusalem dies in my heart, frisk frugt, hyde, dean blunt, ian william craig, jerry paper, pardon the interruption, nazoranai, graham lambkin
>>
>>61308341
Hello high schooler.
Try listening to jazz and classical music when you grow up.
>>61308707
Hahahahaha what shitty recs for new music!
>>
>>61308762
>Hahahahaha what shitty recs for new music!
>is too afraid to post any himself
>>
>>61308762
wew now this is a true patrician, strange how he hasn't actually posted anything
>>
>>61308707
I sort of get what you mean though I think Death Grips are creating/popularising a new sound/style to an extent, thanks for the list anyway

Well sure if you actually listened to modern music you would know that composers like Harrison Birtwistle, John Luther Adams, and Vijay Iyer are all huge players in their genres.
But of course you are just teenagers.
>>
jesus christ i'm sick of the "f u t u r i s t i c" circlejerk surrounding the likes of OPN, Arca and Holly Horseface.
>>
>>61308341
Animal Collective sounds real fresh
>>61308866
no, you're a fool. what are some great jazz and classical albums?

If you disconstruct their releases, maybe only One Point was mading true new sound of these three acts.
>>
>>61308979
Nice reply. You really haven't heard any of those composers? Embarrassing.
>>
>>61308707
are you frisk frugt?
>>
>>61308916

>Holly

Shes an middle way act, nothing really incredible. Arca does something news and promising but i guess theres more good producers at this path, but only well-marketed producers surfaces in these platforms, you know, most of producer submit their music to reviewers and does their actions but everybody needs a fucking record label
>>
>>61309032
>You really haven't heard any of those composers?
Where did I say that?
I was just pointing out your unnecessary elitism
>>
>>61308341

You might have to get off the beaten path a little breh
>>
>>61309041
What makes you think I am?
>>
ironically, David Bowie because he's drawing from Death Grips
>>
Call Death Grips a meme all you want, but can you name any album that sounds similar to The Powers That B (as a whole)? Especially the first side.
>>
dean blunt
>>
>>61308901
>buying into the Vijay Iyer meme
Others are good though
>>
Honestly some of Death Grips beats sound like stuff Grime has been doing for years. Other parts of it just sounds like them trying be Ancient Methods

The Money Store is a genre defining/groundbreaking/the best of DG. Never gonna be topped by them, is their Antennas to Heaven
>>

holy shit taste batman
>>
>>61309444
TMT is unforgetable.
>>
>>61309432

lolno

in fact TMS is DG LEAST groundbreaking album. TPTB is by far their most ambitious and experimental. it makes TMS seem like pop-rap by comparison.
>>
>>61309432

niggas on the moon comparing to TMS is debatable, but not Jenny Death

>>
>>61309519
TMS is DG best, is not even a case to debate. Not calling it the most experimental work
>>
>>61309552

Inanimate Sensation is more experimental than anything on TMS
>>
>>61309432
W E W L A D

I'm not calling TMS more experimental, i'm simply saying this is more DG favorite record and their most cohesive.

See >>61309574

>>61309617

but "best" is subjective

I think NLDW is their best

my man.
Government Plates is exactly what I want in a cyberpunk album. I'd say it and NOTM are their best efforts.
>>
>>61309617
Then why are you posting about it? This thread is about truly original music and you're posting off topic about your favourite DG album for no reason when one of the tracks on the album is essentially Push It by TLC.

Trained composers, just like they always have.

When will you realize that popular music is never that original or innovative?

Pile has been making some of the most original and exciting rock music in years with that is deeply rooted in tradition, and modern American music. I don't understand why they're not bigger, (as goes for many of the bands on the EIS roster.) Maybe it's because Fantano didn't dig the record all that much and everyone that posts on this board is a 17 y/o trend hopper. Whatever, your loss.
