Honestly, today's EDM. All of the electronic genre's in the past, progressive, trance, house, electro, are all smushed into this one category that's literally nothing but bootleg trash. Like I can't even differentiate today's Trance and Progressive House because they all sound the fucking same to me.

Artists like Vektroid and all her pseudonyms had some originality, but after that, Tumblr and Reddit caught on to the thing, and then everyone decided to just copy what she did for that slowed down Diana Ross song and make it even simpler; slow down a song, give it a Japanese title or something to do with the Internet, and make an A E S T H E T I C anime cover with lean on it, and boom, you're done.
Worst example of that was some obscure Bandcamp moron who made a truly terrible vaporwave remix of Weezer's Sweater Song as part of some massive (99+ tracks) compilation of his "life's work"; all he did was pitch Rivers' voice up and down and loop "Sweater, sweater, SWEATER, sweater" while drowning out all but the intro of the song in bullshit.
the worst genre would be one that focus on stuff that already had genres that focused on it and did better and at the same time already had genre that made it plebier for mass consuption
