Aside from it tying in thematically to Airbag, I don't really know. I've never felt it was too special a track myself.

Nah. It's a bit of a wildcard and perhaps a bit close to the band's earlier alt rock output compared to everything else but it's also got an energy that's unique to the track and plays up its themes of bombastic sloganeering pretty well. A bit messy, but I think it earns its place on the album just fine despite the tonal shift.

I don't hate it, I just find it kinda bland as a standalone song. The most compelling thing I can say about The Tourist is that it loops back into Airbag, which is a nice gimmick I guess but otherwise is this airy, atmospheric rock tune that's not even as good as Lucky in that regard, and Lucky already isn't one of the album's highlights as far as I'm concerned. I've never really found the album after No Surprises to be all that compelling if I'm to be completely honest.

Decent song on its own but it drags on too long to be a good closer + overshadowed by greatness of other songs. Maybe placement on album has something to do with it
