well yeah i agree it's not amazing but it's incredibly fun and entertaining. I don't think anyone ever said it was like some great work of art but does it have to be?

Totally agreed, great description. Some people just don't understand that an album doesn't have to be super profound and precise to be great. This thing is messy chaotic and sometimes a little cringeworthingly earnest but that just makes it great
It makes sense most of /mu/ hates AJJ, since most of /mu/ doesn't think that music can be described as fun. In this case cheeky lyrics and a back and forth between exaggerated violent lyrics and genuinely sweet lyrics makes the album fun.
It's not a great musical achievement, but when has folk music ever really been about pushing artistic boundaries? It's always been about telling stories through simple music.
That Dillenger Escape Plan EP with Patton was pretty good
