Phish has very approachable pop melodies of fun with some unexpected twists that should keep kids and their shorter attentions guessing. And the lyrics are pretty youthful and optimistic on the surface and a little weird on the side.

I feel that way about some Ornette Coleman albums, but I feel they're lighter in mood and are less likely to frighten and confuse kids. Specifically Body Meta has always reminded me of a lighter Captain Beefheart.
