Eh, I slightly disagree.
I think it's probably easier to say that Spanish is easy to learn but hard to master for an English speaker.
The basics aren't hard at all, but some of the more complicated stuff (Which can even be stuff like abnormal verb conjugation) can easily trip someone up.

But pronuntiation and phonetics are something else. I know English-speaking people who have been living in Spain for decades and still can't speak Spanish without an English accent
